History of Alumnae Chapters
Delta Delta Delta was founded Thanksgiving Eve, 1888. In 1892, the alumnae of Delta Delta Delta formed as association called the "Alpha Alliance of Delta Delta Delta." The purpose of this association was to unite the alumnae from Alpha Chapter at Boston University to perpetuate their interest in Delta Delta Delta, and in Alpha Chapter in particular.
The first Convention in 1893 authorized the "alumnae degree," now known as the Circle Degree. Each year, thousands of Tri Delta collegians become alumnae and continue their journey of lifetime membership in Tri Delta. Now, living Tri Delta alumnae number more than 145,000, and Tri Delta has more than 350 active alumnae chapters across the United States and Canada.
Each year, Alliance Day is celebrated on August 29th to commemorate the founding of the first alumnae chapter.
